Overview of the Day:
The journey begins from the holy towns of Haridwar or Rishikesh, where the sacred
Ganga Aarti instills a devotional spirit before departure. Pilgrims experience the
charm of spiritual India as chants, bells, and diyas light up the evening ghats.
Scenic Drive: Traveling along the river valleys of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi, the
drive passes through Devprayag, where the confluence of Bhagirathi and
Alaknanda gives birth to the Ganga River. This sight is one of the most spiritually
significant moments of the day.
Spiritual Stops: Pilgrims witness Devprayag Sangam, Srinagar town, and
Rudraprayag Sangam, where the Mandakini merges with the Alaknanda. These
sangams are revered for their purifying powers, and many devotees stop briefly to
offer prayers.
Himalayan Views: As the vehicle ascends toward Guptkashi, the snow-clad
Chaukhamba peaks slowly reveal themselves, giving a magical glimpse of the
Himalayan kingdom
Evening Rest: Upon reaching Guptkashi or Sitapur, pilgrims rest in comfortable
lodges arranged by Vanvas Adventure. The evening is often used for light
acclimatization walks and short devotional gatherings to prepare for the trek
ahead.
Highlights at Kedarnath Dham
Dev Prayag:
The final and most revered confluence where the Alaknanda meets the Bhagirathi River, officially forming the Ganges. Devotees flock here for ritual baths, prayers, and to witness the holy merging of these rivers. The town has several temples, including the Raghunathji Temple, adding to its spiritual charm.
Apart from religious significance, the Panch Prayag sites are gateways to the Garhwal Himalayas, offering trekking, wildlife spotting, and nature photography opportunities. The pristine surroundings, coupled with the sacred waters, make Panch Prayag a must-visit destination for spiritual seekers and nature enthusiasts alike.
Dhari Devi Temple :
Dhari Devi Temple, located in the serene landscape of Uttarakhand, India, is a revered Hindu shrine dedicated to Goddess Dhari Devi, considered an incarnation of Shakti. Perched near the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers, the temple holds immense religious significance, attracting devotees from across the country. The goddess is believed to protect the region and bless devotees with prosperity, health, and spiritual well-being.
The temple’s location is picturesque, surrounded by lush forests, snow-capped mountains, and flowing rivers, creating a tranquil environment for prayer and meditation. According to local legends, the goddess’s idol originally resided in the nearby town of Srinagar, Uttarakhand, but was relocated to its current site to protect it from flooding and other natural calamities.
Rudra Prayag:
Here, the Alaknanda merges with the Mandakini River. Named after Lord Shiva (Rudra), it is famous for its religious and cultural heritage. Ancient temples dot the banks, making it an important site for rituals and festivals.
